Belvedere Vodka - retail display and mailable packaging design

The Brief

Create luxury packaging to showcase Belvedere’s fine glass for retail display whilst also being able to keep the product secure during transit in the postal system. Being almost two separate briefs, creating dual-purpose packaging was a challenge as retail packaging aims to show off as much of the product as possible, whilst postal packaging usually obscures the contents in order to protect it.

The Solution

Working with the promotional glass our packaging designers developed an easy to construct but sturdy fitment to close around the item, holding it securely within the outer packaging and acting as a buffer to prevent breakages. The fitment was key; cradling the glass and stopping contact from any of the outside edges, preventing breakages, but including apertures to work with the carton in a retail environment. As the carton was also designed with apertures, the base and bowl of the glass were visible through the packaging. Adding premium foiling details accentuated the Vodka brand’s famous tree branch design which was important to attract consumers.
