Replacing plastic in packaging - case study
Environmentally-friendly packaging
If you have plastic in your packaging and want to know if you can remove it, the answer is invariably: yes!
As a company who really cares about the environment, we are proud to share this sustainable packaging case study where we completely replaced plastic packaging with an environmentally-friendly alternative, leading to improved brand perception and product sales for our customer.
The Brief
Redesign a multipack of retail products to completely remove the plastic in the packaging. The design had to show off the products within whilst having enough space for branding and messaging. The main motivation was to ensure the packaging was sustainable and environmentally friendly.
The Solution
Providing a structural design that had four window apertures allowed us to showcase the sparkling product within whilst removing the need for any plastic packaging. The size of the apertures allowed the products to remain secure in a retail environment and the surrounding space was perfect for attracting shoppers through the messages on the printed packaging. As the design we provided was custom made to measure, we were able to create a secure multipack without the need for an internal fitment. Our client was extremely pleased with this design and has reported sales of the product have signficantly increased since using non-plastic packaging.
"Working with Duncan Print has been great! They advised me on ways to completely remove the plastic from my packaging whilst keeping all the products in my pack visible and I couldn't be happier. I've even got additional space for product messages. My customers and suppliers have reacted very positively to the now fully-recyclable packs and I have seen my sales increase as a result."
